Reminder – Niagara Parks Commission Meeting Location Change

Niagara Falls, ON – The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) would like to remind the community that its public Commission meeting scheduled for this Wednesday at 10 a.m. has been moved to the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture Lecture Hall at 2565 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Meeting attendees must notify the parking lot staff that they are attending the Commission meeting in order to gain complimentary parking at the site.

Prior to the Commission meeting, NPC will make two special commendation presentations at 9:45 a.m. in the gardens to the rear of the School of Horticulture Administrative Building. These presentations will recognize Mr. Ruedi Hafen and Mr. Ken Irvine of Niagara Helicopters, as well as NPC Police Constables Shawn Black, John Gayder and Sgt. Lance Dobbin for their June 18, 2011 rescue efforts of two New York State Parks Police officers on the Niagara River above the Horseshoe Falls. The second presentation will recognize Mr. John Kinney, Owner & President of Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours for his dedication to public safety during the rescue of an injured hiker in the Niagara Gorge on August 9, 2010.

The presentation of commendations will be made by the Honourable Jim Bradley, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services and Janice Thomson, Interim Chair of The Niagara Parks Commission.
