Niagara Parks and WildPlay Niagara Falls Provide
“Construction Activity Update” for Whirlpool Adventure Course

Niagara Falls, ON – The Niagara Parks Commission and WildPlay Niagara Falls are pleased to provide an update on the construction activity taking place at the soon to be opened Whirlpool Adventure Course, located at Thompson’s Point.

As part of the final stages of construction required to complete the Whirlpool Adventure Course, WildPlay Niagara Falls has notified Niagara Parks that it will need to restrict public access to the viewing platform at Thompson’s Point beginning on Monday, March 13, 2017 to Friday, March 31, 2017.

During this work, Niagara Parks has taken steps to ensure the Niagara River Recreation Trail, which runs continuously along 53 km of the Niagara Parkway, including through Thompson’s Point, will remain open to the public. However, the closure of this popular viewing area platform is necessary to ensure public safety during the completion of the last of three Adventure Course (Classic, Kids and Extreme) challenges to be raised at the new outdoor attraction, prior to its opening this spring.

The Whirlpool Adventure Course at Thompson’s Point will provide visitors with a breathtaking, authentic Niagara Parks experience. This new outdoor adventure attraction aligns well with Niagara Parks’ other natural attractions and provides another unique way for guests to experience the wonder of the Falls, the Niagara Gorge and all the lands along the Niagara Parkway.

The Niagara Parks Commission is committed to a vision of Ontario’s Niagara Parks as one that Preserves a rich heritage, Conserves natural wonders, and Inspires people world-wide. Founded in 1885, The Niagara Parks Commission is an Operational Enterprise Agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
